Training Division
The Cranston Police Training Division is responsible for providing logistical support for all In-Service Training Programs, schools, and seminars hosted at the Cranston Police Training Academy. They are also the liaison between Neighborhood Crime Watch Groups, Cranston Crime Stoppers, and the Citizens' Police Academy. All Cranston Police officer candidates receive physical fitness pre-screenings and background investigations prior to being offered employment, the training division is responsible for conducting these pre-employment qualifications.

The Cranston Police Department is now accepting applications for:
“Citizen’s Police Academy”
This (10) week program begins on April 20th and meets on Tuesday nights @ 6pm. It is free to all Rhode Island residents who are 18 years or older.
