Bureau of Criminal Identification

The Bureau of Criminal Identification is responsible for the forensic investigation of crime in Cranston. This unit is staffed by four detectives whose main goal is to examine and process evidence in an effort to answer the question, "who committed this crime?” This unit also acts as the property custodian for evidence and property seized as part of criminal investigations or held for safe keeping. In addition, the BCI Unit assists the Family Services Bureau, another arm of the Detective Division, in tracking registered Sex Offenders.

Expungements

ALL FEES MUST BE PAID BY CHECK OR MONEY ORDER MADE OUT TO THE CITY OF CRANSTON (NO CASH)

AN APPOINTMENT IS REQUIRED FOR ALL FINGERPRINTING. APPOINTMENTS ARE AVAILABLE TUESDAYS (10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m.) AND THURSDAYS (1:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m.)
