Colonel Stephen McGrath
On behalf of the officers and support staff of the Cranston Police Department, it is my distinct pleasure to welcome you to our online headquarters, www.cranstonpolice.com. The Cranston Police Department continues to be a leader in law enforcement in the southeastern New England region. The past year has brought great achievement and recognition to our community. We have again been honored as one of America’s safest cities by Morgan Quitno Press and have been blessed with a ninety percent approval rating by the citizens of the City of Cranston as a result of an independent survey conducted by Salve Regina University. In addition, we are proud to report an overwhelmingly successful transition into our new home on Garfield Avenue. It has truly been a very good year for our department.
The coming year marks the end of the first-ever self-assessment period for the Cranston Police Department’s accreditation project. It is our goal to become fully accredited by March 2009. In addition, we will be expanding our technological resources within the police department in an effort to stay at the front of law enforcement technology in the State of Rhode Island. We look forward to working with our city government and, most importantly, the citizens of the City of Cranston. Our on-line headquarters is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week…stop by anytime.
