Chief's Message
On behalf of the men and women of the Cranston Police Department, I would like to welcome you to our new and updated website. We appreciate your interest and encourage you to visit us here often.
Community policing is a philosophy and an organizational strategy that promotes a partnership between the citizens of Cranston and their police. Our improved on-line portal will allow a direct link to our District Supervisors in order to enhance this philosophy and strategy.
We recognize that building, cultivating and maintaining the community’s trust is a key element in crime reduction in our city. We are committed to reducing crime in our neighborhoods by targeting all areas of crime and community concerns. The ultimate goal of the Cranston Police Department is to improve the quality of life for all of the citizens as well as others we serve. By maintaining close partnerships, we will attain this goal.
As the City of Cranston and the Cranston Police Department begin their one hundredth year of service, I am proud to lead our team of law enforcement professionals into the next century. The Cranston Police Department is comprised of hard working men and women – dedicated police officers and civilians who have made vigilance and honor a way of life. It is through these values, essential to effective and ethical policing, that we will fulfill our mission of working together with our residents, business owners and neighborhood leaders to resolve issues facing our community.
Please feel free to contact us with any issues that may be of concern to you. We look forward to hearing from you and always remain-
Respectfully In Your Service,

Colonel Marco Palombo, Jr.
