Detective Division
The Detective Division is the investigative branch of the Cranston Police Department. The Division houses the main unit of Detectives, Prosecution Unit, Special Investigations Unit, Family Services Bureau and the Bureau of Criminal Identification. Together these units are responsible for the follow-up investigation of crimes and the prosecution of the criminals that commit them. In the year 2007, the Detective Division has been assigned approximately 2,425 follow-up reports. Of these assigned cases, officers assigned made 425 arrests.
